The Journal of Children & Poverty is committed to providing authors with timely feedback. Please complete your review within one month or propose an alternative timeline prior to beginning your review.

Complete both a letter to the editors and comments to the author(s). In your confidential letter to the editors, please recommend whether the editors should accept, reject, or invite the author(s) to revise and resubmit the manuscript. In the case of a revise-and-resubmit recommendation, the editors may request an additional review to ensure the author(s) responded to all of the primary concerns. The editors will send comments to the author(s) unaltered. Please provide clear and comprehensive feedback to the author(s). Consider the manuscript's relevance to the journal, significance of scholarly contribution, theoretical and methodological competence, integration of findings into existing scholarship, organization, and clarity of communication.

Identify both the strengths and weaknesses of the manuscript and offer concrete suggestions for improvement.
